DhammaGaveshi Messages on Inauguration of the Web Site

The Message from The Chief Monk of Kotte Chapter ....

Great sages in the past had their own methods of conveying their knowledge into the minds of young people. Long after their lives modern techniques started helping the youth through modern science but the lack of ancient wisdom the young minds are starved of deep understanding. Now the time has come to convey the wisdom of ancient teachers to the minds of young generation using modern techniques.

I feel the attempt of I.B.Y.S to launch collected Buddhist wisdom through Buddha Gaweshi I bless for success of such an attempt …………….. and may it help the bewildered youngsters through at the world.

The Message of Ven. Dr. Pandita, N.Gnanaratana ....

It is a matter of immense pleasure to know that the website (www.buddhistgavesi.com) of International Buddhist youth service is going to be released soon. The teachings of the Buddha are still relevant today in order to create an environment of international fraternity and mutual understanding. These teachings serve as healing touch for the troubled world today. Now is the time for all to loudly proclaim the great compassion of Buddha to disseminate Buddhism. I deeply believe that this is the only path that can relive the mind and bring peace on earthy. This web site is neither only for understanding of youth nor the benefit of particular community, but also to make everybody interested, for the better result in future. I express my sincere thanks to Ven. Hantane Dhammagavesi , organizer and other members for their dedication without whose cooperation this website would not have been possible. Therefore I am sure that the opening of the website will be received well all over the world. May all beings rejoice in the merit of this website.

The Message of Prof. P.D. Premasiri ....

It is with great pleasure and appreciation that I congratulate the International Buddhist Youth Service for successfully launching the Buddhist Gaveshi website on 12th August , 2001 at Battaramulla,Sri Lanka. I consider this as a very timely measure and wish that it will be a great success. Intellectual all over the world who have liberated themselves from the shackles of dogmatic belief are becoming increasingly awakened to the significance of the teaching of the Buddha. Buddhism offers to a corrective not only to the materialist and sensualist life style which enhances human greed to the detriment of the very natural environment in which human beings live, but also to the fanatial and decisive ideological creeds, religious or otherwise which breed mutually destructive hatred among mankind. The educative value of Buddhism has not yet been duly recognized by people who search for a wholesome philosophy of life. One major reason for this is that to a large section of the people who are searching for a wholesome ideology, the true essence of the teachings of the Buddha is still not easily accessible. The Buddhist Gaveshi website will contribute immensely to overcome this deficiency. The survival of Buddhism has never in its history depended on economic or political power. It has depended solely on its intellectual and moral appeal. The Buddha himself emphasized the supreme significance of the miracle of instruction over and above all other miracles. I believe that the Buddhist Gaveshi website will give priority to this miracle of instruction in all its communications with the wider world. Isolated traditional Buddhist societies are faced with numerous problems which are not widely known to those who sympathize with their cause in other parts of the world. I hope that the new website will be instrumental in creating a wider awareness among sympathetic Buddhist communities regarding such problems so that some form of collective measures could be taken to overcome them. There are numerous Buddhist groups emerging in various parts of the world with the objective of sharing the concerns of Buddhists and working towards a common goal of peace, understanding and liberation. A Buddhist Gaveshi website is immensely useful in promoting that objective. Once again I wish unhindered success in achieving the objectives of the Buddhist Gaveshi website, and hope that it will serve as a major means of bringing together the Buddhists of the world in the common pursuit of knowledge, truth, liberation and peace.
